Snail club
Tiziano Terzani once wrote that our best fellow travellers are books; his words were echoed by Gina Lagorio, who said that a lot of people can’t help “ending the day with a last reading moment in bed…” We agree with them, though we tend to believe that our best friends in life are memories: memories can make up stories and so educate the mind, as Gianni Rodari would put it. A memory is the best Linus’s blanket in existence; it acts as a coat in Winter and as breeze in Summer.
It is all that makes life worth living, that makes us special, unique and irreplaceable, as well as inscrutable.
Memories have to be built, they cannot be made of sheer imagination; they are above all made of real life experience and…they come back to mind suddenly, without ifs, buts, nor whys… they come and warm your heart, raise your smile, light up your eyes…
TRAVELLING WITH VA…LENTINA
You can hardly evoke a memory, because this is an instinctive, spontaneous process, but we like challenges… We want you to get involved in our venture… we won’t recall memories, we will look for new and special ones instead, capable of keeping you warm in Winter and cool in Summer… thus, we will leave our doors open and tickle your palate and mind… raise your curiosity, take you along a pleasant route made of smells, tastes and words that, hopefully, will get you to laugh to tears or to think, preventing boredom from creeping over you… we’ll come along with you on this journey in the spirit of Va..lentina. At a snail’s leisurely pace: we will be as slow as a snail that with early warmth stretches out one antenna, then the other one.

CULTURE FOR APERITIF
Our evenings of cultural, musical and literary entertainment start at 7.30 pm; we will serve “theme” aperitifs and wines linked to the stories told to the audience.
